Problems with casting
We have had a lot of problems in trying to secure an actress and an actor for our film. Our original actress has told us she cannot come on the day and we are still unable to find an actor. This is an aspect of making a film that I had not prepared for. This has taught me for my next projects to plan in advance and to ask friends and family if they know anyone as they will probably be able to be more flexible.

Short Film : La LoterĂa
This is a Spanish short film I found on Vimeo that particularly caught my attention. It's a classic young-adult love story which I feel like has elements of our idea.
I really like the imperfect nature of it and the alternative endings, I want to reflect the idea of the flawed romance as I believe it is something far more relatable than your classic love story.
The story follows two young lovers and their story through trying to get a green card to move to the States. My favourite scene is when she is writing a list of pros and cons regarding her boyfriend which whom she is not so happy. The focus on these moments of imperfection I believe make the film and I want to try and incorporate great moments like these in my film.

ARTICLE : what makes a good short film

BEAT starring Ben Whishaw from Aneil Karia on Vimeo.

Whats really interesting about reading this article by people who have watched a lot of different
films and do have a clue about what they are talking about;
THINGS THEY LIKE;
- Not quite sure about what you are watching, having to figure it out.
- Creating an atmosphere to draw you in
- Not given all the answers to all the time
THINGS THEY DON'T LIKE;
- trying to fit everything into 5 mins
- becoming too much like a concise feature film
