Posters : part 2

I started to play around with some shapes, colours and images for the first few poster ideas. Here are some I made;

I then had the chance to get some pictures of the actors in their original costumes and tested how I could incorporate them into the poster.

I definitely want to incorporate a box image in the final poster, these are just ideas I've had throughout the process.

Posters : part 1

As I finalised the film I started to look at the poster and started to play around with some ideas for how I want it to look.  Here are some images/ posters that inspired me when looking at film posters, Japanese and Korean style graphics are specifically my favourite.

The editing process : Music

After receiving audience feedback from the rough cut in my previous post one of the main critiques was the sound and the music. Whilst the sound is yet to be mastered so the loud cars and busy traffic should be excused I did realise that my choice of music at the heart of the film was quite distracting. That original track was Stupid by Bobby Womack, although I did like its effect alongside the film because of the lyrics I understand why it was too loud and confused the story line.

For the next cut I decided to change the tune and go with an instrumental track. The final film will include these two songs. I think they fit the narrative well and give a hopeless romantic feel to the film.

Rough cut

This is the second rough cut I made of the film. The first one unfortunately got lost when my computer crashed the other day, however I can confidently say this is a vast improvement.

The editing process : Fonts

I wanted to keep the font choice appropriate to the name of the film; The Box. I figured it would subconsciously compliment it well and work with the overall aesthetics.
Whilst looking for a font I also kept in mind its potential use in the poster, as using the same font would create synergy between the film and the artwork.

These were some of my favourites out of the ones I found, I went for a box-like shape and look and ended up choosing Wireframe as I found it the most aesthetically pleasing.

This is a screenshot from the end title of the film:

The editing process

The editing process for me is my favourite part. I use Final Cut Pro to cut the footage together with the native sound for the first couple rough cuts and then move on to mastering the sound on Premier later on. I created two ident's for the beginning of the film, my original inspiration being a programme I was watching about the royal family and the view from my window of Trelic Tower.

Learning to Animate

As an idea foe the film I wanted to learn how to animate with after effects and and character animator. I hope at some point in the film I can introduce some sort of animation as it has always been something that I want to learn about and incorporate in all my projects.

Here is one I made with photoshop and then after effects which is a foundation to a potential idea for the film.

Final Film : The Box

This is the final version of the film. Please note: We had to make some last minute adjustments regarding the Spanish dub that we ...
